Dissecting a Trailer: The Parts of the Film That Make the Cut »

How scenes from five of the nine best picture nominees were reassembled to promote the films.

When I go see a movie in the theaters and then afterwards see the trailer again, I always think to myself: “This trailer gives away the whole movie”. When in reality, my mind is recalling scenes of the film and putting the missing pieces together.

The New York Time has analyzed how the trailers for certain Oscar nominated films were put together. It’s pretty fascinating that some show end of the film prominently while others follow a more traditional format.
